Well the fishing season is winding down for me. Monday September17th,2001, We trolled the 100-125' range off of Port Bay. Not much bait or fish on the screen, we caught one mature Chinook Salmon on the dipsy diver pulling a dodger and fly combination. About one hour later we caught a mature Coho Salmon trolling lead core line with a #4 j-plug. We trolled about one hour more, then pulled the plug on the Salmon fishing and switched over to fishing live bait for smallmouth Bass. The action there was in 25-16' of water. With the surface temperature of the lake starting to drop off, it will only be a few more weeks before we start planner board fishing with stick baits for steelhead and brown trout. So don't put the boats away yet, Lake Ontario has alot of action to come. Capt. Frank and Capt. Charlie DeNoto
