July 12th, 2000. This week off of Port Bay salmon
have started to show up. today we took two salmon, 15-
19 lbs. and released one other salmon. {chinooks}. and
speaking to other fishermen, who have boated kings ranging from 15-33lbs. Northern King spoons have been the selection so far. The alewifes in their stomachs
match the same size as these spoons. As reported in the
newspaper,there seems to be more schools of bait fish.
This should help produce bigger fish. We are still taking nice brown trout everyday. Not much as far as lake trout, or steelheads.
For the bass fishermen, the lake is starting to turn over cleaning the moss off the bottom of the lake.
And the bass are showing up with plenty of crawfish in
the stomachs. for the best action, 20-30' either east or west from our Port. And jigging for perch has been
productive in 5-6' of water.
Keep one thing in mind when running out to your favorite fishing grounds, there has been alot of floating debree in the lake so watch where your driving
