Well we waited long enough for some Chinook salmon to appear, but the past few days fishing from Fair Haven to Sodus Bay in 100-250' of water there has been mature salmon taken. The newest technique has been flasher and fly rigs. The sportfishermen from the past late 70's and early 80's use to run these. Well their back and doing a fine job !!!!!! The fish have been taken from 75-120' down and with long leads from the dipsy divers. A few nice brown trout and some smaller ones have been getting caught also. With gentle care you can release these fish to catch again next season.
Also in heavy supply have been smallmouth bass in 40-18' of water in these same areas. Crawfish are still the best bait, but nightcrawlers are starting to work well. Take advantage of this nice weather and enjoy Lake Ontario. Good Luck
