We went out this past Saturday and hooked up with two lakers (12, 4 lbs) 10 ft down 100 ft back over 300, with sutton silver/gold spoons. That's the 1st time we have caught lakers on the surface like that, but I guess with the colder lake waters (48 on saturday) its reasonable. We also gave the bass a go, catching only one really nice small mouth in the lake in 15' of water on a frog stickbait. In Port Bay we did well, catching 15 large mouth bass (3 in the 2-3 lb class) came close to shore, since they are probably still on their beds, so keeping the weeds off of the spinnerbaits was a chore! Anyone else have any luck? Tim :-) |
