Well if you put your time in on the big waters of Lake Ontario you can be rewarded. Most people feel that you have to rush to the rivers now to catch some salmon, not true! Speaking for myself, I've had to work hard for the fish I'm catching. But we had a nice catch of 4 Chinook, And 1 Coho Salmon today, the fish weighed from 12-28lbs.for the Kings and 9lbs. for the Coho. The winds stop blowing from the south and switched to the NW. and got lumpy, this lowered the thermal Cline down We fished in 125' of water, where the bait and fish we marked were down from 85-125' down. Four of those fish came on Northern King spoons, only one was caught on Cut-bait. So don't put the boats away yet, go out and catch the fever.... Capt. Frank and Charlie DeNoto |
