Chinook salmon have been the target fish for
the Port Bay area for about one month now. With some kings weighing 15-30 lbs. the battles have been great. Currently most of the boats have been working the 300-600' range downrigging about 70-110'down. Cut-bait with flashers, and NK Magnum spoons have been working best for us. But listening on the vhf radio { ch. 14} sportfishermen have been using other lures and trolling techniques. The smallmouth fishing has been going strong also, in 10-30' of water...
So while the weather upstate has been warm and dry
gather your friends or family and head to Lake Ontario, Port Bay and catch some memories.
