Independence Day came on the 5th of July!!!!
After searching for the fall run of Chinook Salmon. On the 5th of July while fishing the deep
water off Port Bay. We captured 3 mature salmon,
and put 1 nice Skamania Steelhead in the catch.
working the 500-700' waters with the temperature
25' down to 80' down. there is plenty of bait and
fish in the area. We used Northern King spoons, and after cleaning the catch, the alewifes in the stomachs of the fish were all large. So if the weather allows you to run offshore this weekend, that would be a good place to start catching some mature salmon. In the shallow waters 100-150' the temperature is 90- to 130' down, with some brown trout being taken.
Good Luck on your next adventure,
Capt. Frank and Charlie
